Cookies Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences (such as being logged in) so you don't have to keep re-entering them. Similar technologies include localStorage and sessionStorage in your browser, which we also use.

2. The cookies we use

JGuide uses strictly necessary cookies and storage only. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party marketing cookies.

Strictly necessary (always on)

  • Authentication session (set by Supabase) — keeps you logged in across pages. Cleared when you log out.
  • Cookie consent record (in localStorage as jguide.cookieConsent) — remembers that you've seen and dismissed the cookie banner so we don't show it every visit.
  • Stripe Checkout — when you make a paid booking, Stripe sets its own cookies on the Stripe checkout domain to operate the payment flow and detect fraud. These are set by Stripe directly and governed by Stripe's Cookies Policy.
  • Map tiles (set by OpenStreetMap when you view a map) — used by your browser to fetch map images.

Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to operate, UK law does not require us to ask for your consent before setting them. We still display a one-time notice on first visit to keep you informed and to comply with the spirit of the regulations.

3. Cookies we don't use

  • No advertising cookies.
  • No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, or similar analytics trackers.
  • No social-media tracking pixels (Facebook, TikTok, X, etc.).
  • No third-party cookies for cross-site profiling.

4. Managing cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. If you block our strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or use most features of the platform.

To clear the cookie banner consent record, open your browser's developer tools and remove the jguide.cookieConsent key from localStorage, or simply clear site data for jguide.co.uk.

5. Changes to this policy

We will update this Cookies Policy if we change how we use cookies. The "Last updated" date above tells you when the current version came into effect.
